New from Bosch Building Technologies is its FLEXIDOME 8100i motorized pan-tilt-roll-zoom (PTRZ) camera. Based on the FLEXIDOME starlight 8000i series, these fixed dome cameras are for use at airports, government facilities and schools, the manufacturer says.
The product comes with edge-based AI video analytics, for security and operational efficiency across various applications, according to the makers. The uses include detecting personal protective equipment, safeguarding privacy, gathering details about an individual’s physical characteristics for forensic searches, and recognising potential threats like firearms. The camera provides image quality in daylight and challenging nighttime conditions, the firm says. The cameras feature smart installation, compliance with the US government’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), and data security.
The edge-based AI, Intelligent Video Analytics Pro (IVA Pro), provides over 95 per cent accuracy the company says for object detection, classification, and counting. Pre-installed IVA Pro software licenses for buildings (such as to monitor access points, count objects, and distinguish people and vehicles), perimeters (to detect and deter intrusions and carry out, long-range monitoring) and privacy (such as at schools, and campuses, to automatically blur faces with a semi-transparent privacy mask without revealing personally identifiable information).
IVA Pro software licenses allow a user to retrieve video evidence based on specific attributes, increasing search capabilities’ efficacy and efficiency (IVA Pro Appearance); in traffic monitoring applications, to learn about traffic flow and patterns. (IVA Pro Traffic); for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) detection to get automatic alerts for missing safety gear to ensure workplace safety and support compliance. (IVA Pro PPE); and for firearm detection and real-time alerts (IVA Pro Visual Gun Detection).
As for installation and remote commissioning, you can reduce setup time by up to 75 per cent it’s claimed, compared to traditional cameras. AI-powered auto-calibration for video analytics can save an additional 20pc of calibration time, the makers add. Starlight X captures colour details in low light, while HDR X records video regardless of object movement, towards image quality in challenging scenes. Intelligent split IR (infra-red) with individually controllable LEDs provides images in complete darkness.
The new camera is rated IP66/IP67 and IP6K9K for protection against water and dust, IK11 for vandal resistance, and has corrosion protection ensuring continuous operation. As for information protection, the product has cybersecurity certifications including IEC 62443-4-1 and UL 2900-2-3 Level 3. Secure Element with Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) functionality supports a 4096-bit key length, setting the industry standard for future-proof security.
