The gate automation firm BFT Automation, part of the Somfy Group, has announced expansion of its operations in Stockport, pictured courtesy of BFT. The firm reports acquisition of a warehouse next to its current premises.
The firm says this comes in response to growth and steady demand for the company’s automated gates, barriers and bollards. The new facility, which offers an extra 5,000 sq. ft to its 12,000 sq. ft site, will enable the firm to increase capacity and improve operational efficiency, it says. Matthew Batson, Director at BFT Automation, said: “Our business has seen steady growth over the past 10-plus years and this expansion reflects our commitment to invest in our future.
“The new warehouse gives us the additional space and resources needed to better serve our customers, our staff, and continue to deliver products and services of a high standard. The timing is ideal – working in close partnership with our colleagues in BFT Italy, we are at the beginning of an exciting project to distribute our products into the Nordic countries from our UK operations and this additional capacity can only aid this project.”
