Space Imaging Middle East (SIME) reports that Crime Prediction – its predictive policing software – has been launched by the Dubai Police force.
The software, said to be the first of its kind in the region, was developed in support of the UAEโs Smart Governance Initiative, and designed to complement the Dubai Police forceโs approach to crime prevention and public safety.
The developers say Crime Prediction analyses intelligence and crime patterns from police databases and, using algorithms, produces data related to when and where crime is likely to occur next. This intelligence in turn informs patrollers on which districts to look at to prevent potential criminal activity.
