Group 4 Technology offers Directory Sync Manager as an optional module in its new multiMAX security management system.
The makers report that Directory Sync Manager is a new module designed for larger organisations, according to the manufacturer; organisations which have a requirement to centralise identity information into an LDAP Directory or Microsoft Active Directory.
A full import of all user information from Active Directory can be downloaded into the security management system. The makers report that the product allows updates of user information on the server by using an Active Directory editor to enter a unique employee ID number. A user can implement a Windows scheduled task to initiate a command file operation to update security management cardholder details from the Active Directory user information. Customers, contractors and new employees no longer have to wait long periods of time for all the systems to be updated and access granted to the applicable areas, it is claimed. Users can update one database rather than synchronize two systems with new user data. Identity information throughout a user company is up to date and consistent, it is claimed.
