Multilink Access Control Systems have launched a new range of vandal and weather resistant, wall mounted, card readers.
The products combine either proximity or magnetic stripe reading technology with tamperproof, touch sensitive peizo keypads to provide "Prox ‘n Pin" or "Swipe ‘n Pin" protection for a higher degree of access security than ever before.
The readers are of solid aluminium construction with a wipe clean surface and are waterproof to IP68 and IP67 respectively, according to the manufacturers. The MVR1 model uses HID proximity technology, reading all standard HID proximity card types, in combination with a ceramic Peizo touch sensitive keypad with no moving parts, it is claimed. The proximity card and keypad can be used independently.
The MVR3 magnetic swipe card and keypad reader is waterproof to IP67, employs Track 2 magnetic card technology and the card and keypad can also be used independently, the makers add.
