Swindon-based SSGC has acquired Security 2000 Ltd, a family-run guarding firm which works around Bristol, Avonmouth, Clevedon and Wiltshire. This means SSGC has added mobile patrols and key-holding to its list of services. The firm says it’s the first deal in its acquisition drive. SSGC has introduced a new customer to Security 2000, becoming the preferred supplier for the South West for a national provider of keyholding and alarm response services.
David Stubbs, CEO of SSGC, pictured, said: โOne of the main focuses of our acquisition drive is acquiring businesses that are looking for external backing to support their own growth prospects. Thatโs exactly the case with Security 2000, who weโre delighted to welcome to the SSGC stable as our first completed acquisition deal.
โThe company has an outstanding reputation for professionalism and service across a range of sectors and thatโs an undoubted position of strength to build from.โ
Security 2000 is a Security Industry Authorityโs (SIA) Approved Contractor. Security 2000 director Richard Rees said: โWeโre responsible for protecting industrial and trading estates and an ever-increasing portfolio of business and residential clients across the South West. Itโs why this partnership with SSGC comes at a great time for us as we continue to grow.
โOur client retention is probably the highest within the security industry and some of our clients have been with us since our first day of trading. Weโre delighted to be working with David and his team at SSGC.โ
Mike Lloyd and Tanya Wilson, partners in Haines Watts chartered accountants, were both involved in advising on the transaction. Mike said: โWe were both pleased to assist and advise on the transaction and are delighted that we were able to help in bringing it to a successful conclusion. We wish all parties every success going forward.โ
