It’s November already, do be careful with those fireworks; which I do love, but I know many pets and wildlife are scared of them. So just look out for them. It can only mean that Christmas is on its way and I’ve already bought those Advent calendars …. have you?

OK to the gossip then, get yourself a cuppa and let’s start!

The lovely Claudia Copeland is starting a new position, as EMEA Distribution Marketing Manager for Axis Communications. Daniel Wan is starting a new role as channel marketing for JAMF. Ricky Partick has started as Global Account Manager at Securitas Technology Ireland after three years with ADT, but he has been in install for some 18 years or so.

My old mate Andrew Keeley has (sadly) left the industry and is now Head of Brand & Marketing for a company called TechPoint. Paul Tilbury starts with DVS as a key account manager, hum, does that mean he locks up at night? Kevin Tracey is becoming a Fire and Security Project manager for Fusion Fire and Security. Ally Isom-Leonard (the winner of Women in Security in the security manager category in 2020) has been promoted to Principal Security Consultant at the engineering consultancy Buro Happold.

Paul Saunders is now the UK external sales manager at Traders Warehouse Security Distribution Group ltd (wow, that’s a mouthful). The infamous Matt Raban (or ninja as he is known to his close mates) has started as channel account manager for March Networks, you can catch him at ST24 in Heathrow on November 7, to offer your congratulations to him.

Ellie Hurst also a winner at our Women in Security awards, has been promoted to Commercial Director for the information security and risk awareness consultancy Advent IM. Daniel Hill starts a new job as global key account manager for Avtel. Another Daniel namely Daniel del Soldato has become the new Marketing Director for Wireless CCTV Ltd.

Stephen Iles has become a specialist life safety gas detector consultant at International Gas Detectors; now that’s a title and a half – does it mean you have a great sense of smell, Stephen? Talking of great titles Michael Grufferty has a new position as Assistant Lecturer Electronic Security Systems (ESS) for apprenticeships at the department of Engineering Technology SETU Waterford! Richard Swain becomes commercial Director at Chubb Fire and Security. James Hatch becomes the strategic Account Director at The Keyholding Company. Matthew Fawson starts as Inside Sales Manager – Europe at Praesidiad. Simon Press starts as New Business Sales Director for Kings Secure Technologies, who I saw are running a tech day at Meriden outside Birmingham the same day as ST24 – oh dear, a clash of dates, you should have looked at our calendar of events! Motorways are good but I can’t see anyone bombing along the M1 to take in both! Chris Wrench starts with Deister electronic as a BDM. Uri Guterman who was at Hanwha you may recall starts as VP of Product and Marketing at Senstar.

And by the way I see that Selectamark Security Systems are looking for a UK sales manager? Contact James Brown if you’re interested!

Acquisitions:

Ranger Fire and Security have completed the acquisition of the passive fire safety business, Fire Door Specialists Ltd. You may recall reading of numerous acquisitions by Ranger; this is their first in the passive fire safety space, broadening out the Group’s offering beyond active fire safety, they say. Ranger are evidently looking to build up some scale and technology offering.
