Camera Crossover

In an example of the crossover of networking and IT and security, networking product distributor Mayflex has added new ranges to its portfolio, such as IP surveillance cameras from Mobotix.

Formed in 1999 in Germany Mobotix has developed products for LAN and traditional security installation companies to use in surveillance and monitoring over standard twisted pair cabling such as Category 5e.
 
The Mobotix product range is sold in 30 countries with users and applications in every imaginable field, from the Antarctic research centres to more conventional home and office use.  With just 3pc, the distributor reports, of the CCTV cameras installed in the UK estimated to be digital the potential market for IP network based camera systems is enormous, the Birmingham-based distributor claims.  To assist it resellers in taking full advantage of this opportunity Mayflex have appointed Ray Heppell as product manager for the Mobotix range; Ray helped to launch the product set into the UK.
