A spate of burglaries has prompted Hadley Wood residents in London to opt for a contract security firm?s vigilance patrols.
After consultation with the police, the area, which includes high profile and wealthy residents, has employed SectorGuard to complement the Metropolitan Police. This move follows similar schemes in South Kensington, Chelsea, Hampstead Garden Suburb and Primrose Hill. Fear of crime has prompted many local groups to look into increasing security as a visible deterrent. Hadley Wood households have been approached to contribute toward the cost of contract guarding. Each household pays a minimum donation of ล500 a year. Panic buttons will link each household to the uniformed guards. The area will be patrolled in marked and unmarked vehicles 24 -7.
