Docks Cameras

by Msecadm4921

At Dover docks, the need to protect CCTV cameras against water and salt is a factor.

Maidstone-based installer Secure Engineering have installed EH stainless steel housings, from Conway Security Products, to Axis cameras on the water?s edge at the port?s Eastern Docks. SeaFrance use the cameras to monitor passengers as they prepare to embark for the ferries, besides providing images of the ships as they enter the berths. The pictures help SeaFrance staff to instruct passengers when they should prepare to disembark, and helps to give staff prompt access to vessels. The cameras are linked to SeaFrance?s video network; images are available on PCs within the port as well as at a remote office, several miles away. Images can even be accessed from the ferry firm?s Paris offices. The stainless steel variants of Conway?s EH range of housings are constructed in 204 steel and a heater and demister is fitted as standard. Among Secure Engineering?s recent major projects have been an upgrade of the CCTV at The Pentagon shopping centre in Chatham.
