NSI, the UK certification body for the security and fire sectors, was delighted to attend the UK Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) in London on March 1. Four of its approved companies were recognised for their achievements.

NSI supported the black-tie Awards evening – part of a global awards scheme running in eight countries to mark outstanding performance in the security sector – sponsoring the ‘Outstanding Security Installer’ category.

The evening was hosted by Mick Creedon QPM who introduced the evening by talking about the ever-growing importance of public private partnerships – which is also the theme of this year’s NSI Summit on Thursday, March 22, at The Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham.

NSI would like to congratulate the 12 NSI approved company finalists whose achievements were acknowledged by the judging panel, comprised of industry figures and in particular, the NSI approved companies below who took home the top prizes in their categories:

•Contract Security Company: Vision Security Guarding (VSG)
•Security Training Initiative: FGH Security Ltd
•Security Officer: Mohammad Fahim of Mitie Total Security Management
•Young Security Professional: Jade Davies – CIS Security Ltd.

NSI sponsored and presented the “Outstanding Security Installer” award, won by WASP Security Ltd. Richard Jenkins, NSI Chief Executive, is pictured right, and Mick Creedon left, between Mike Lees and Lisa Corbridge of Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, who nominated WASP, based in Sheffield.

Richard Jenkins says: “The UK OSPAs provide a vital role in showcasing and celebrating the outstanding achievements of those companies and individuals within the UK electronic security and guarding services sectors. Such events are valuable opportunities to recognise and reward success. NSI with its focus on raising standards across the UK security industry was proud to play its part by sponsoring one of the categories and it was pleasing to see so many NSI approved companies becoming finalists and winning their specialist award category.”
