Bid accolades

by Mark Rowe

At the APMP UK Awards – by the UK arm of the Association of Bid and Proposal Management Professionals – two awards have gone to the contractor Mitie.

Mitie’s integrated facilities management team was recognised in the innovation category for “fearlessly pushing the boundaries and challenging the status quo” (Ken Erskine, APMP UK CEO), while raising bidding and proposal standards within their own team and across the wider Mitie business. Also awarded in the individual writing category was Mitie’s bid manager, Louise Rance, for regularly creating clear, concise and customer-focused bid material of a professional standard. Fellow bid manager, Kirsty Hayes was runner up in this category.

Phil Holland, managing director of Mitie’s integrated facilities management business said: “The continual improvements made by the bid team in the last year have been impressive. As trusted advisors for our clients, we aim to add significant value right from the start of our relationships so getting it right at the bid stage is very important. It’s great to see the team recognised for their extensive knowledge and expertise and the tangible benefits they bring to the business.”
