Land Sheriffs have promoted Head of Operations, James Coyle, to Managing Director. The guarding contractor, a member of the ACS Pacesetters group of highest-scoring SIA-approved contractors, provide security services primarily in the rail industry. Their signage for example is a familiar sight in eastern London and Kent, alongside the High Speed 1 (HS1) Eurostar line from St Pancras towards the Channel Tunnel.
With 20 years’ experience, their services range from protecting land and infrastructure, to on-train security and crime prevention measures. The Harlow, Essex-based firm has a 24-hour CCTV room and provide mobile patrols and manned guarding across the rail network besides other public and commercial locations.
James, pictured, was five years as Head of Operations. He says: “I’m really excited to be taking the reins as Managing Director, following Tyler’s successful tenure as he steps into a new strategic role as CEO. My goal is to ensure that we continue delivering high-level security services to our clients, prioritising passenger safety and keeping trains moving.”
Tyler LeMay, who has been Managing Director for the last ten years, says: “I’m pleased to be passing on the role of Managing Director into James’ very capable hands! While I focus on developing the business as CEO, it will be great to work alongside James as we ensure the business runs smoothly and align our strategic objectives and goals.”
As MD, James will be responsible for the overall business by executing strategies, implementing operational changes, identifying new business and targeting long-term goals. James aims to implement a new marketing strategy, pursue a range of accreditations and focus on sustainability goals, all while providing the same service to clients.
James adds: “There are lots of exciting developments on the horizon for Land Sheriffs, not least in the run-up to the busy festive period. We’ve successfully completed our audit for our Railway Safety Accreditation Scheme (RSAS), as well as stage one of our ISO 14001 accreditation. Plus, we’re continuing to work on achieving carbon neutrality to meet our sustainability goals.”
About Land Sheriffs
As the festive season approaches, James will be focused on leading on route crime, graffiti, trespassing and anti-social behaviour. He adds: “One of my main priorities in the coming months, and beyond, is ensuring we remain committed to delivering our company values of respect, innovation, collaboration and integrity. Our team leads the way in providing a platinum service by working diligently and positively with the public and I look forward to growing that reputation.”
