The Air & Port Security Expo Europe (APS) is running in Brussels on 13 and 14 September.
According to the organisers, APS affords airports and airlines as well as seaports, shipping companies and related Government departments an opportunity to evaluate the latest technological offerings that can help better safeguard the industry.
One of the most sensitive topics for discussion will be passenger profiling. Philip Baum, the Editor of Aviation Security International, has spoken of regulators’ over-reliance on technology and reluctance to embrace, what he calls, "common sense security". Philip Baum will be presenting his views on passenger profiling.
Other presentations invited are from the European Commission, NATO, British Pilots Association and Maritime Security Council. And some 100 exhibiting companies will showcase their product launches for 2007.
