Peter Christou and Tony Lowrey, formerly VP Worldwide Sales and Technical Director respectively at Entegrity, have launched Finally Software, a company specialising in security solutions for enterprises. Finally Software aims to provide companies with a one-stop shop covering enterprise security including user verification, secure email and payment systems and PKI (public key infrastructure). Christou, President of Finally Software, says: ?Technically sound security solutions such as PKI have failed to make the impact they should have on the market because of the high costs involved and the technical complexity of the systems. A typical PKI installation from the likes of Baltimore or Entrust can cost œ350,000 or more. Using our software we can implement an equivalent PKI-based solution for half the price.? Finally Software also provides significant reductions in the ongoing costs of managing and maintaining IT security systems, the firm claims. Tony Lowrey says: ?When it comes to security, an organisation’s biggest concern is often the cost of administering a system, in terms of manpower needed, skills, training, and actual cost of hardware and software. Many companies are forced to opt for less secure systems because the costs of managing the solution they would like to use are prohibitive. Our solutions are robust, but put responsibility for sensitive data firmly in the hands of just one or two key people in an organisation, vastly reducing the chances of an internal security breach and ensuring the system is less costly and easier to implement and manage.? The Finally Software range of solutions includes Verifiable Intent, an authentication system that monitors sensitive data, such as the security administration system. If changes are made to the data, the security administrator is alerted and asked to accept the changes through a separate smartcard and pin number authentication system, safeguarding companies from virus outbreaks, hacks and internal security breaches. The company also offers OneNet, a portfolio of PKI-based security products including full PKI, Smartcard administration and user support, secure web, email and Java distributed applications and secure payment.
