Training For Poles

by Msecadm4921

With a view to training Poles to work in UK private security, a Worcestershire training company has signed a contract with a European recruitment company.

Train 4 Security, based in Droitwich, reports it is set to train 1,000 people in eastern Europe between now and the end of the year, after signing the deal with Granica Recruitment, based in London.

The courses, in Warsaw and Krakow, will allow those taking part to achieve the SITO/NOCN qualification – from the Security Industry Training Organisation and National Open College Network. Successful candidates can then apply for SIA – Security Industry Authority – licences, the trainers add. Those who make the grade will then be able to apply for work in the UK as security officers, it is claimed.

Six delegates have already undertaken the training course, the trainers say. Now that Poland is a member of the European Union, this allows those with transferable skills to work outside Poland, with ex-forces personnel and ex-police staff often keen to develop security skills, the firms report. The trainers claim that a strict screening process takes place to ensure that each trainee meets BS 7858:2004, the British Standard for screening of security personnel.

What they say

Phil Ruggiero, Managing Director of Train 4 Security said: "This is an exciting contract for us and we are absolutely thrilled to be delivering such a well-recognised course to so may high-calibre delegates. It is Train 4 Securityโ€™s first time in Poland and we hope to develop the strong working relationship we have with Granica. It is absolutely vital to ensure that those who work in security-related positions โ€“ as door supervisors and retail security officers for example โ€“ are qualified professional people. Our job is to maintain the industryโ€™s high standard and continue to deliver security qualifications."
