Red Dot Awards

by Mark Rowe

The manufacturer Ajax Systems has won two Red Dot Awards, for design. This year, the company’s video surveillance and home automation products were recognised; the BulletCam and LightSwitch respectively.

Valentine Hrytsenko, CMO at Ajax, said: “It’s an honour to be acknowledged by the Red Dot Awards again. We believe great design goes beyond aesthetics, making technology approachable, intuitive, and meaningful. Our mission is to develop innovative products that meet today’s needs and enhance daily life. These awards celebrate the people behind our products and push us to continue building solutions that resonate with users.”

About BulletCam

BulletCam is a wired AI-powered security IP camera of minimalistic design and aluminum enclosure with an IP65 protection rating. Notifications can be adjusted to show meaningful events while ignoring routine occurrences. A user can define specific zones so that recordings are triggered only when movement occurs in the selected area. This conserves data storage and streamlines archive navigation. The device provides owner control over CCTV via a privacy menu. Users can determine which accounts can view, save, and manage specific video streams. Privacy zones can be manually configured to hide sensitive areas while everything around them is still recorded.

LightSwitch (1-gang) [120] Jeweller is a wireless smart touch 1-gang light switch. Its touch-sensitive panel responds to taps or contactless gestures — it is enough to put a hand at least 15 mm close to the device, and the light turns on. LightSwitch does not require a neutral wire; its touch-sensitive panel conceals all electronics and antennas, allowing users to control their lighting and power outlets from their smartphones. The product comes in eight colours: white, fog, grey, graphite, ivory, oyster, olive, or black.
