The fire safety and intercom product company Comelit-PAC has launched GDX Next, in its GDX door entry range. It’s aimed at local authorities and private social housing providers managing residential estates.
The manufacturer adds that GDX systems have been installed across local government and social housing properties, in apartment buildings and shared entrances.ย As housing providers oversee ever more complex estates, so have expectations around building door entry systems evolved. Beyond securing entrances, systems are expected to be straightforward to manage, adaptable to buildings and capable of supporting estate remote management, the company says.
David Hughes, Head of Product Management at Comelit-PAC, says: โFor managing large residential estates, local authorities and private housing providers rely on door entry systems to maintain security and day-to-day operations. When developing GDX Next, we wanted to create a platform that reflects the way these systems are used in practice. This meant focusing on simplicity, flexibility and creating a solution that housing teams can manage confidently over the long term.
GDX Next combines Comelit door entry with PAC access control hardware to create a unified platform supporting audio and video door entry alongside integrated access management.ย A common hardware and cabling structure across handset options streamlines installation, cuts component requirements, and supports upgrades and long-term maintenance across large estates, according to the product firm.
GDX Next offers access management options. Systems can operate stand-alone, be managed via PC-based software, or administered remotely through cloud-based Housing Central. The range comes with multi-technology readers and handset options.
David Hughes added: โDoor entry systems in residential buildings need to be dependable, straightforward to manage and capable of supporting buildings for many years. GDX Next has been designed to provide this dependable long term foundation for local authorities and private social housing providers as the way residential buildings are managed continues to evolve.โ
