Academy sponsor

by Mark Rowe

A football academy, established in Hemsworth, Yorkshire, has been sponsorsed by a local guarding company – Active Response Security, based in Barnsley.

Costa Unida UK offers Elite Football Academy coaching to young people from the ages of six to ten years. Costa Unida has over ten years’ experience of delivering quality football coaching packages in Marbella in Spain under the direction of Jamie Fullarton, ex-premier league footballer, qualified UEFA Pro Licence coach and previously first team manager of Notts County Football Club. Costa Unida’s aim is: “Empowering players to be the best they can be in everything they do in a safe learning environment”.

A number of eight to ten year olds from Barnsley are already involved in the UK Academy.

Players will receive a full kit carrying the Active Response logo.

Michelle Bailey of Active Response explained the reasoning behind the sponsorship: “Jamie put a persuasive case about developing the skills of young people in a safe environment. We have a primary interest in the well being of young people, which is reflected through our 3D character BuzzBee, who is used as a teaching tool in schools. There is a great synergy in our aims and we will take a highly supportive approach in enabling Jamie and his team to enable players to work hard in pursuit of their dreams. I would encourage other business owners to look at ways they might give their support too.”

Michelle Bailey was among the 2017 Women in Security (WiS) award winners, presented in London in September and featured in the October 2017 print issue of Professional Security.
