NVR options

by Mark Rowe

Wavestore, the British developer of Video Management Software (VMS), has unveiled its new WR-Series Network Video Recorders (NVRs) with optional next business day or four-hour on-site response services provided by Dell.

The WR-Series gives the latest version of Wavestoreโ€™s VMS for installations that require up to 254 IP cameras per server. Available in 1U and 2U rack mountable options, these NVRs come pre-installed with Version 6 embedded onto their Linux operating system.

Julian Inman, Head of Product Management for Wavestore says: โ€œWavestoreโ€™s truly independent open platform VMS is already among the easiest to use in the industry. With the addition of the WR-Series to the range, our Partners can take advantage of next day or, in metropolitan areas, four-hour response times to carry out activities such as replacing in-warranty hard drives for enhanced simplicity and peace of mind.”

Available in three versions, the WR-Series caters for mid to enterprise level applications. WR14-Series NVRs can accommodate up to four 3.5-inch hard drives in a 1U chassis to provide up to 32TB of storage and, the makers say, users can typically expect 31 days continuous real-time recording from 54 Full HD cameras.
WR28-Series NVRs are supplied with RAID and dual redundant power-supply as standard for fault-tolerance. They can take up to seven 3.5-inch hot swappable hard drives to provide up to 56TB of storage and users can typically expect 31 days continuous real-time recording from 80 Full HD cameras.

And WR216-Series NVRs can accommodate four internal and up to 12 3.5-inch hot swappable hard drives in a 2U chassis to provide a capacity of up to 128TB of storage. WR216-Series NVRs also come with RAID and dual redundant power-supply as standard for fault-tolerance. Users can typically expect 31 days continuous real-time recording from more than 200 Full HD cameras.

All these NVRs come with a full three-year return to base hardware warranty as standard, and the option to upgrade to a five-year warranty.

Available from Wavestoreโ€™s authorised distributors and integration/reseller partners, the new servers come with the option to upgrade or expand channels at any time, without having to reinstall the VMS software. The WR-Series is contained within Wavestoreโ€™s latest MSRP price list, which covers Wavestoreโ€™s VMS and hardware products. Partners and clients can request a copy of the MSRP price list directly from Wavestore or by contacting their authorised distributor.
